Stars And Stripes On The Hill…Have you heard of it? What is that you ask? Well, let us explain!
Stars And Stripes On The Hill is another brand new, unique event being brought to Clinton County by the Clinton County Fair Association. This monumental event is planned for Memorial Day weekend, May 27th thru 30th at the Clinton County Fairgrounds. The purpose of this endeavor is to benefit the Clinton County Fair and for the fair association to establish a scholarship fund for children of our service men and women. The goal is to provide at least one scholarship in each Clinton, Lycoming and Centre counties every year.
Stars And Stripes On The Hill will begin with a Presentation of the Colors at the regularly scheduled races on Friday evening at the Clinton County Speedway.
From 3 PM on Friday thru the remainder of the weekend, there will be vendors displaying their goods both inside and outside the buildings as well as food vendors. Camping will also be available.
On Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 10 PM the grounds will be filled with a variety
of entertainment including live bands, guest speakers, redneck Olympics, children’s
activities, old time carnival games, basket bingo, raffles, antique tractor display,
hay rides, All Male Review and other plans are in the works, including a non-
Lokey, the train from our local 40 et 8 Club 903 will be on the grounds to offer rides.
In memory of loved ones who have served, there will be a walk of flags similar to the luminaries held during Relay for Life. Solemn and Honorable services will be held Monday morning with invited dignitaries speaking, taps and a 21 gun salute.
Many more events are still in the planning stages, but all four days are expected to be jammed with lots of activities for everyone.
With an event this large, as always, lots of volunteers are needed. Please feel free to join our committee !
