1. Contestants must be at least 16 years old and not over 20
years old by June 1, 2008
2. Contestant must be a resident of Clinton County.
3. Contestant, parents/guardian must each sign entry form.
4. Contestant must be single, never married, have no children
and must not marry or become pregnant during her reign.
5. Contestant cannot have been a former winner or state contestant.
6. Contestant must submit her entry by June 25, 2008.
7. Contestant must submit a brief biography using a 3" x 5" card.
8. Judging will be based upon poise, neatness, appearance and
ability to communicate. The decision of the judges will be final.
9. Winner must be eligible and available to enter the State
Fair Queen Contest In January 2009.
10. Contestant must write an essay of 300 words or less on "What
The Clinton County Far Means To My Community". This essay is due June 25,
2008. She must also prepare and present at the contest a three to five
minute talk on "Why you should come to my Fair."
Emphasis should be placed on "agriculture". The three to five
minute timing is very important, as it will be considered when judging.
11. Wallet size photo of contestant should be attached to official
entry form.
12. During Fair week the Fair Queen and Runner-up will make appearances
at various activities as requested. When making public appearances,
the Fair Queen and Runner-up should not wear jeans or shorts, or be accompanied
by her boyfriend. Her sash should be worn when making appearances.
13. Awards of $200 to Queen, $100 to First runner-up,
will be given after the completion of the fair.
14. The State Convention will be held in late January 2009.
15. A luncheon for contestants and parents/guardians will be
held on Sunday, August 3, 2008 at 1 PM.
16. Contestant must be able to meet all time commitments,
Queen obligations and dress code set forth by the Pennsylvania State fair Queen program.
17. Queen will receive Dr. Douglas Casses Memorial Award.
